Friends of Short Avenue Annual Elections May

We need you! Are you passionate about helping students at Short Avenue?  All Friends of Short Avenue (FoSA) board positions are open.

FoSA elections are May 1. It is time to pass the baton. Coordinating activities and events for our school is rewarding and fun and we want to ensure that a new team is ready to take the reins and guide our school’s fundraising efforts.

Do you like seeing kids smile? Do you have a special skill—organizing, coordinating, note taking, designing, negotiating, marketing, bi-lingual, etc. or are you passionate about our school?  WE NEED YOU!

ALL POSITIONS ARE OPEN
Current board members will mentor and train new members. Nominations may be emailed or dropped off at the front office. Questions?

LAUSD Guide | How to Prepare for a Teacher Strike and Talk to Kids

LA Unified created this Family Resource Guide to help parents prepare for the possibility of a teacher walkout.

The guide, also available in Spanish, addresses what will happen at schools and how to talk with your children about a strike. It also outlines how the contract negotiations with the teachers union reached this point, and includes contact information for schools and other LA Unified offices.
