CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

As of March 11th, 2020 LAUSD has suspended all social gatherings.

We all received word from LAUSD’s Superintendent Austin Buetner that all schools must cancel/postpone all social gatherings until further notice due to the coronavirus. Unfortunately that means as of now the following are cancelled until further notice:

These are all the events leading up to Spring Break. We will continue to keep all parents informed as we receive instruction from LAUSD.

McNichol-Bernbach Group Realtors are hosting a Canned Food Drive with music, lawn games, raffles and Due Mani Pizza Food Truck from 11am-2pm! For every 2 non-perishable food items you donate, you will be entered into a raffle and receive a food truck voucher (limit 1 per person)!

Also, the After-School All-Stars program is requesting donations to make hygiene kits for the homeless. They are looking for small travel-sized hygienic products.

This is ALL happening at Short Ave School, 12814 Maxella Ave, 90066 on Saturday 11/16.

Fall Festival – Friday 10/25

Join us for our 1st Annual Fall Festival!

We’ll have a Haunted House, Live DJ, Festival Games, Craft Tables, Food, Drinks and Baked Goods!

Open to the community! ENTRANCE IS FREE! Wear your costume!

Wristbands are available for pre-sale in the office and after school. Wristbands include unlimited Haunted House viewing, all games and a one-time visit to the craft table! Food and drinks will be sold separately. Presale wristbands are $15. Adults wristbands for unlimited viewing of the Haunted House are $3 each or 2 for $5.

Join us for a Night of Family Fun!

Enjoy the interactive activities by the lunch benches, observe STEAM projects in the auditorium, and dine with us on the lawn! FoSA will be selling pizza, hot dogs, drinks and desserts, and Sharky’s will be selling food too!

1st Dolphin Cafe of the Year!

Join us for a scrumptious Dolphin Café hosted by Friends of Short Avenue. We will be offering fresh and healthy smoothies made on site, delicious donuts, Nutella filled croissants, colorful cereal necklaces and more! Round out your selection with warm cocoa or good, strong hot coffee! All proceeds go to supporting programs at Short Avenue Elementary.

The Café stops promptly at 8:00am for the first Friday school assembly. The Café may resume after the assembly ends.
