
Fundraising Planning Committees
Do you like planning events and campaigns? If so, we need you! FoSA puts on many fundraising events throughout the year and we need help making the magic happen. Click this link to sign up. - Movie Night: Under the advisement of the Fundraising Director this planning committee will create and execute on an on-campus after hours movie night. We will have one in the Fall and one in the Winter. Committee will include selling tickets on the portal, promotion of the event, logistics for the on-site event, recruiting on-site volunteers, being available to be an on-site volunteer, and recruiting sponsors and vendors.
- Fall Festival: If you love Halloween then this is your jam! This event is the largest attended event with over 500 attendees annually. This event takes place in October and features food trucks, games, inflatables, face-painting, a haunted house, etc. Under the advice of the Fundraising director, this committee will be chaired by one chairman and then divided up into 4 parts - Haunted house, game booths, onsite logistics and food/music. Committee will include setting up ticketing in the portal, promotion of the event, logistics for the on-site event, recruiting on-site volunteers, being available to be an on-site volunteer, and recruiting sponsors and vendors.
- Bookfair: Do you love spreading the joy of reading? Join this committee who is led by our Library director. This group will plan and support the book fair as well as other library related events.
- Beautification: Are you a DIYer? Do you like to get your hands dirty? Then this committee is for you. Under the advisement of the Beautification Director this group will plan and support the Beautification days throughout the year, ensuring our campus looks its best.
- Yearbook: Do you love to scrapbook or play with graphic design? This is for you! This committee takes on the entire design of the yearbook. Under the advice of the Fundraising Director, you all are in charge of getting photos, selling, distributing and ordering the yearbooks.
- Sponsorship: Under the management of the Sponsorship Director this committee will solicit for, negotiate and manage sponsorship agreements and serve as a liaison with local businesses on sponsorship execution.
- Edible Garden: Working closely with both the Garden Director and our Master Gardener you help keep our garden happy and healthy by volunteering with the kids in the garden and recruiting volunteers to do the same.
- Restaurant Night/Food Truck Fiesta: Under the management of Restaurant Nights/Food Truck Fiesta coordinator you will contact, book and coordinate with restaurants and food vendors for restaurant nights and food truck fiesta nights.
- Spirit Wear: Do you love graphic design and have experience in demand planning and working with merchandising? This committee works year around to create spirit wear to purchase by the Short Avenue elementary community. This committee will produce collections for the Fall and Spring Semester, as well as create a custom design for our annual Dolphin Derby fundraiser.
- Dolphin Cafe: Under the management of the Hospitality director, you will help procure donations/discounted products from food vendors to sell at Dolphin Cafes. You will also help recruit volunteers and staff the Dolphin Cafes throughout the school year.
- Penny Wars: This is a fun week-long fundraiser. The kids collect coins and dollars to earn points for their class & to sabotage another class! It's a student favorite. Under the management of the Fundraising Director, you will be responsible for setting up and executing the fundraiser. This will include setting up the collection jugs, working with the Marketing & Communication director in creating promotional assets,collecting the money at the end of the fundraiser, and counting the money.
- Dolphin Derby: Our second largest fundraiser of the year that occurs in early Spring. This annual peer-to-peer fundraiser promotes an active way to show support to our school. Students are invited to run. jog, skip, dance or wheel their way around the school track - all while raising money for the school. Under the advice of the Fundraising Director, this committee will include setting up a fundraiser in the portal, promotion of the event, logistics for the on-site event, recruiting on-site volunteers, being available to be an on-site volunteer, and recruiting sponsors and vendors.
- Silent Auction & Spring Mixer: One of our largest fundraising events! This committee has two parts - silent auction and a live in-person mixer, providing parents and caregivers the opportunity to mix and mingle with each other without having to have their kids in tow all while bidding on goods and services from the community. Under the advice of the Fundraising director, this committee will include setting up ticketing in the portal, setting up silent auction items in the portal, procuring items and experiences, promotion of the event, scouting and securing a location. logistics for the on-site event, recruiting on-site volunteers, being available to be an on-site volunteer, and recruiting sponsors and vendors.
- 5th Grade Graduation: Help make Graduation a special day for our 5th graders and their families. Organize a reception at Culver West park, inclusive of procuring and setting up refreshments, décor, and clean up. Typically performed by non-5th grade parents, usually 4th grade parents help take this on. Graduation is in June.
- Dolphin To-Do: Don't want to commit to a particular committee but have time to help out as needed? Sign-up as a Dolphin To-Do committee member to be tapped throughout the year for one-off asks and needs.
